Sandy Springs police say that a woman was threatened, cursed at and had her purse stolen in a Kroger parking lot on June 10.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, about 5-foot-9 and 140 pounds, aged 25 to 35 years old. The woman told police the man snatched her Louis Vuitton wallet from her wrist causing the strap to break and bruise her wrist.

The handbag is valued at $450, contained a credit card and $260 worth of other items.

According to a police report, officers responded to the scene at 8331 Roswell Road around 12:30 p.m. that day and spoke with the victim. She said she was walking towards the Kroger when the suspect told her, “I should (expletive) you up,” and “I should shoot you.”

Police said the woman recognized the suspect, but doesn’t know him by name.

The woman then turned and walked away from the suspect, and that’s when he grabbed her wristlet, police said. The woman told police the suspect put his hand in his pocket and repeated “GAT GAT” several times, to imitate the sound of a gun.

As the suspect was walking away, the woman said she shouted, “You’re going to rob a female?” at him. She said a man standing near the barbershop in the Kroger shopping center called out to the suspect, “Taz, why you always messing with these females?”

The woman told police she believed the suspect fled into the Kroger. She began looking for police on foot.

Police were unable to find the suspect or the witness who was near the barbershop.
