DNA evidence has linked a former Zaxby's restaurant employee to an armed robbery three years ago in Fayetteville.

Erika Tiggs was arrested Thursday for her role in the August 2007 crime, said Det. Mike Whitlow with Fayetteville police.

Two perpetrators entered the restaurant on Ga. Highway 85, ordered employees into a cooler and stole $2,000 from the business, police said. Evidence from the scene was sent to the GBI Crime Lab for further investigation, and a DNA sample from Tiggs matched, Whitlow said.

Tiggs had worked at the restaurant a week prior to the robbery, Whitlow said.

Investigators are also trying to determine whether a separate Zaxby's robbery in 2009 is connected, The Citizen in Fayette County reported.
