If you’re an Alpharetta resident who needs to make a records request, report an incident, or fill out a form for a permit, you’ll need to do that online beginning this Friday.

At 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, the lobby of Alpharetta’s Department of Public Safety will be closed until 2018 for renovations. Construction is expected to take seven to nine months.

To assist citizens with their needs, the department has launched an "interactive lobby," which can be accessed by visiting p2c.alpharetta.ga.us/p2c/.

On the site, options are presented for the following: event search, accident reports, records request, report incident, extra patrol, and permits and applications. Its records division can also be reached at 678-297-6306.

On the left-hand side of the page, there is also an option to submit a crime tip.

The department says residents will have to visit a neighboring agency for fingerprint cards and carry permits.
