Police were called to LePage’s Loganville home on the evening of June 1. When an officer arrived, he saw a man on his knees and LePage behind him, holding a gun to the man’s head and saying “I’ll [expletive] kill you,” a police report says.
The officer ordered LePage to drop his gun, and he complied, the report says. LePage and the victim were detained separately by two police officers, and LePage told an officer that he was a DeKalb County detective, the report says. Both LePage and the victim “appeared heavily intoxicated,” with bloodshot eyes and a strong smell of alcohol, according to the report.
LePage and the victim had been drinking at the victim’s house since about 6 p.m. that day, the victim told police. At some point, the two got into an argument and LePage went to his home across the street, the report says. The victim followed LePage home, and LePage drew a gun at him, the report says. LePage said he had not been at the victim’s house that day.
The victim’s wife told police that she “nearly had an affair” with LePage 10 years ago, and that was brought up while he and the victim were drinking, causing an argument, the report says.
LePage was released on $5,700 bond five hours after he was booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center.
