Two children were bitten Friday by a pit bull dog in Clayton County,  authorities said.

The children, 10 and 5, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, a police spokesman said in a statement.

The pit bull was impounded by Clayton County Animal Control and will be held in quarantine for 10 days.

The police spokesman did not immediately return a phone call seeking more information. The incident occurred on Valdez Drive in Rex, Georgia.
