About half of Lees Mill Road in Fayette County remains closed while construction to replace a culvert pipe at Tar Creek continues. The project, funded by the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, began in August with relocation of a gas line that wasn’t completed until September.

Repeated rain caused an additional two-week delay until new soil could be put in place around the culvert. A detour is rerouting traffic onto Lees Lake Road, Rivers Road and Hwy. 92. The county says Lees Mill Road is expected to re-open sometime before Thanksgiving.
