Pinehurst road in Snellville to close due to bridge construction

Gwinnett County Department of Transportation plans to close Pinehurst Road between Snellville and Grayson along the stretch of road between Ridgedale Road and State Route 84/Grayson Parkway beginning Jan. 7 for a bridge replacement project at Big Haynes Creek.

Bridge replacement is needed because of substandard load carrying capacity and substandard bridge roadway geometry. The bridge, originally built in 1965, does not meet currently acceptable standards or safety features. The bridge is not eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
