Atlanta police have confirmed a homicide in the 900 block of Donnelly Avenue in the city's southwest.

The person was shot in the chest, police confirmed.

Homicide detectives were en route to the scene late Wednesday morning. The shooting happened just after 11 a.m. The victim was sitting in a car.

Few details were immediately available late Wednesday morning.
