Based on past violations, the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 16 denied a request by Bruna Perez to continue operation of a hair salon in her home at 3783 Centerville Highway in Snellville.

The in-home salon had been approved for a special use permit in 2012 with a two-year limitation. Since that approval, the county has received complaints the business has been operating without a business license.

After a police investigation, the owner was found in non-compliance and issued a citation. In addition, the hair salon has been reported to be in violation of the special use permit by allowing outside employees, serving more than one customer at a time and providing exterior signage.
