Five people were robbed at gunpoint by two men in downtown Decatur over the weekend, police said.

The group was walking up Commerce Drive at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday when the two men approached them and demanded their belongings, the Decatur Police Department said in a statement.

One of the men pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the victims, they told officers. The victims handed over their purses, wallets, cell phones and watches.

The men got into a black Toyota Camry and left, heading west on West Howard Avenue. The victims, who were not physically injured, got the tag number of the car, but it came back registered to a stolen car out of Gwinnett County.

Investigators have not identified the men. The one carrying the handgun was described as being in his mid-20s, about 6 feet tall with a medium build, wearing a gray knit hat and dark clothing, police said.

The other was in his late teens or early 20s, about 5 feet, 8 inches with a thin build, and wearing a red hoodie. Anyone with information about the case or their identities should contact Decatur police.
