Two pedestrians were shot early Saturday in Atlanta, one fatally, during separate robberies, police say.

One man was fatally shot in northwest Atlanta on Westmoor Drive at Mayson Turner Drive, and another was wounded in Midtown on Juniper Street when he and an acquaintance arrived at a parking garage.

The victim in the northwest Atlanta shooting appeared to be in his 40s, but police did not provide any additional information. Since the shooting, around 4:40 a.m. Saturday, occurred within 40 minutes of the Midtown shooting, cops were investigation to see if there was a connection, according to Channel 2 Action News.

A man pulling into a Midtown parking garage was shot in the arm just before 5 a.m., and  he and the woman he was with were robbed, Atlanta police said.

The assault in the 900 block of Juniper Street near shops and apartments. The wounded victim said the couple were approached by two men with handguns. The suspects robbed the man and woman then shot the man, police say.

The man’s wallet was taken and the woman’s purse and watch were stolen.

The man was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.
