A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car Saturday evening on Texas 71 near Bob Wire Road, according to the state Department of Public Safety.

The incident, reported at 7:24 p.m., took place roughly midway between the communities of Spicewood and Bee Cave, a DPS official said. The name of the victim was not immediately released, and the official didn’t know if other people were injured or how the wreck occurred.
