Clayton County police were investigating a fatal pedestrian accident early Tuesday on U.S. 19/41.

The incident happened about 6 a.m. just south of Flint River Road.

The state Department of Transportation reported that the pedestrian, whose identity was not immediately available, was struck by multiple vehicles.

All southbound lanes of the highway, which is also known as Tara Boulevard, were shut down by the investigation.
