A pedestrian was outside of a crosswalk Sunday night when a car struck and killed her, Marietta police said early Monday.

The crash occurred just before 8:10 p.m. near AMF Marietta Lanes bowling alley. Kimani Kamau, 66, of Marietta, was traveling southbound on Cobb Parkway near Wylie Road in his 2006 Ford Freestyle, Marietta police spokesman Jared Rakestraw said.

Kelly Willis, 50, began walking eastbound on Cobb Parkway.

“Willis, who was crossing outside of a designated crosswalk, entered Kamau’s lane of travel and was subsequently struck by his vehicle,” Rakestraw said.

Willis died at the scene of the crash.

Anyone with information regarding the accident is urged to call Officer Brian Wallace at 770-794-5266.
