A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car about 5:15 a.m. Friday in Douglas County, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

David. F. Ramos, 27, of Lithia Springs, was killed as he crossed in front of a car traveling westbound on Ga. 6 near Maxham Road, GSP said.

Ramos was hit in the middle lane.

A crash investigation shut down the southbound side of Thornton Road at Maxham Road more than an hour, according to WSB's 24-hour Traffic Center. Skyview Drive was used as an alternate.

Lanes have since reopened. No charges were filed against the driver.
