The Peachtree Corners Veterans Monument Association is seeking volunteers to assist with the city’s new monument now through the fall.
Volunteers are needed to help install 47 new bricks the week of May 18. PCVMA will provide instruction, tools and refreshments. Volunteers should be able to carry bricks, bend over or kneel, and use provided tools to remove and install bricks.
Additional volunteers are needed to assist with the currently scheduled Memorial Day Ceremony on May 25 and the Peachtree Corners Festival June 13 and 14 at the Town Green.
In the fall, volunteers will take responsibility for all activities involved with placing a wreath on all veteran graves in Peachtree Corners’ three cemeteries at Christmastime under the Wreaths Across America program. Those helping will help raise funds, work with Boy and/or Girl Scouts to locate veteran graves, and recruit volunteers to lay the wreaths when they arrive in December.
To participate email Bob Ballagh at bob.ballagh@comcast.net.
