The Peachtree Corners City Council voted Tuesday to table a decision on an ordinance prohibiting flexible tube lighting around storefront windows and commercial signage. The ordinance would also repeal conflicting regulations related to the city’s overlay standards. Comments by local business owners expressed concern outlawing the lighting would make their businesses harder to locate.

Following a suggestion to grandfather in existing businesses with tube lighting, the city council chose to table the ordinance for more time to evaluate alternatives. The city will investigate back lighting of signs and other options to meet business owners’ concerns as well as look to how other cities handle the issue.
