The national Government Finance Officers Association has awarded Peachtree Corners the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for the second straight year.

“The city is dedicated to fiscal responsibility at every level and this award proves our commitment,” said Brian Johnson, City Manager. “The award also illustrates the city’s commitment to communications in the budgeting process.”

To receive the budget award, the city had to satisfy guidelines for effective budget presentation. These guidelines are designed to assess how well the city’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide, and a communications device.

Budget documents must be rated “proficient” in all four categories, and in the 14 mandatory criteria within each of those categories to receive the award.

“This is an important award that validates Peachtree Corners’ commitment to responsible and successful budgeting,” said Brandon Branham, Finance Director. “We strive for excellence in all financial matters and appreciate this national recognition for our ongoing efforts.”
