The Peachtree Corners City Council is considering an amendment to zoning to add food trucks, or mobile restaurants, as a permitted use within Technology Park in the Central Business District. A second read and public hearing will be held during the next city council meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 17 at City Hall, 310 Technology Parkway.

A mobile restaurant is defined as “a commercial kitchen within a licensed and operable commercial motor vehicle whose method of operation is temporary and transient and involves the preparation and sale of food and/or beverages in a ready-to-consume state for consumption either on or off the premises, but not within the vehicle.”

If approved as written, the city will allow mobile restaurants in areas zoned for light industrial use within Technology Park. No property will be allowed to have more than three mobile restaurants at any one time, and the mobile restaurants will be readily moveable and not affixed to the ground.
