The Peachtree Corners City Council approved an ordinance Tuesday to provide funding for the city’s portion of construction of the new Town Center. The city will build the roads, parking deck and town green, Fuqua Development is responsible for the development of the retail and restaurants. John Wieland Homes will be responsible for the development of more than 70 townhomes.

The ordinance authorizes Peachtree Corners and the city’s Downtown Development Authority to finance up to $15,250,000 in revenue bonds for the acquisition, construction and parking facilities related to the proposed new facilities.

The Town Center, to be built on 20.6 acres of undeveloped land on Peachtree Parkway across from The Forum shopping center, will be a mixed-use development featuring retail, restaurants, office space, townhomes, and a two-acre Town Green. The expected date of completion is fall, 2017.
