The Peachtree Corners City Council voted unanimously April 21 to approve an ordinance titled ‘Green Regulations and Policies.’ The ordinance puts policies and regulations in place to make the community more environmentally sustainable.

The plan provides incentives to encourage development of buildings designed to LEED specifications, lighting features such as energy efficient signage and parking illumination and fixtures designed to conserve water. In addition, the ordinance encourages the city to purchase and use fuel-efficient and low emission vehicles and establishes green purchasing, recycling and waste reduction policies.
