In an effort to keep sizes for store signs along Ga. Hwy. 54 West comparable, proportional and visible, the City Council of Peachtree City unanimously approved amendments to the corridor’s design guidelines last Thursday.

The developer of the new Overlook shopping center sought larger signs than current rules allowed, given the stores’ distance from the road. The new guidelines will allow the larger anchor tenants to have signs up to 150 square feet, and slightly smaller signs for the smaller tenants.

The same rules will allow a few other nearby stores, including Walmart, PetSmart and BestBuy, to slightly enlarge their signs if they choose.
