Two seats on the City Council of Peachtree City will be up for election this fall, and the council set the dates for qualifying and voting at its Jan. 17 meeting.

Candidates wanting to qualify for Post 1, currently held by Phil Prebor, and Post 2, currently held by Mike King, may file papers at City Hall starting at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 19 and ending at 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 23. The seats are for four-year terms that start in January 2020. The qualifying fee will be $360, and candidates must file a Declaration of Intent with the city clerk before accepting campaign donations.

Voter registration for the Nov. 5 election will close at 5 p.m. on Oct. 7. If a runoff is necessary, it will be held on Dec. 3. For details, contact City Clerk Betsy Tyler at btyler@peachtree-city.org.
