Peachtree City’s contractor for mowing the grass in 98 miles of right-of-way areas will get going a little earlier next year. The city council voted 4-0 on Dec. 18 to allocate $230,000 to extend TruGreen’s contract through FY2015, which ends next Sept. 30.

However, the city stipulated that the company must begin mowing in mid-February rather than April, as was previously done. The administration had received public complaints that grass got too tall before mowing began. The city plans to get bids in July for a three-year mowing contract starting in FY2016.
