Road repaving will resume in Peachtree City now that the City Council unanimously approved the contracting bid on April 2. The city allocated $1.73 million for Blount Construction to resurface Crosstown Drive, Grecken Green, Blue Smoke Trail and a portion of South Peachtree Parkway this year. Public Service Director Jon Rorie acknowledged that the city is more than a year behind schedule in paving streets and multi-use paths, but road projects are being prioritized based on available funds, and improved in-house techniques developed by city staff will speed up the path-paving rate.
