The City Council of Peachtree City voted 5-0 Thursday to renew a ban on rezoning property for multi-family housing. The city adopted the ordinance in 1999 “in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens” by limiting multi-family development to areas already zoned as such. The definition includes apartments, townhouses, duplexes, condominiums and assisted-living facilities. The ordinance must be considered for renewal annually.
