In response to residents’ questions about permitted outdoor activities, Peachtree City has posted a Q&A about local shelter-in-place restrictions on its website.

Found under the News heading on the homepage at www.peachtree-city.org, the list notes that residents can still use the golf cart paths for necessary travel and personal exercise, while maintaining a 6-foot distance from others. Local parks (including ponds) remain closed because playground equipment cannot be constantly disinfected, but golf courses are open because they are not owned by the city. Boating on Peachtree City’s lakes is permitted but public boat docks are closed. The web page includes a comprehensive list of which city facilities are and are not open, as well as contact information for reporting violations or appealing a business closure.

The governor’s April 3 shelter-in-place order authorizes local police and sheriff officers to enforce these mandates.
