Peachtree City has posted information about the Lake Peachtree spillway replacement project online at the city website. The presentations, made to the City Council in April and September, outline the engineering and construction process that led to the current plan and timeline.

Because of space limitations, the old spillway must be removed before the new one can be built, which means the water level in the lake will be partially lowered (not drained) in the fall/winter of 2017. Completion is expected by June 2018, with an estimated cost of $3.5 million. The next project updates are expected in December or January.
