Peachtree City police arrested a 24-year-old Senoia man Thursday and charged him with allegedly seeking to entice children while lurking around school bus stops.

Damien Lee Yerger has been charged with two felony counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes and three misdemeanor counts of loitering/prowling, police said.

The investigation began after police received complaints about man in a gray Honda SUV-style vehicle acting suspiciously around several school bus stops in the city.

The man allegedly made comments to youngsters that they looked pretty, and that the weather was cold and if they’d like to sit in his car. When the children declined his offer or moved away, the suspect would leave the area.

After increasing patrols, issuing public service announcements, interviewing witnesses and receiving other assistance from citizens, police said they identified Yerger and went to his home on Autumn Creek Drive in Senoia. There, they found a gray Honda Element.

“During a subsequent interview, Yerger confessed to his involvement in the reported incidents,” police said in a news release.

Yerger was booked into Fayette County Jail.
