Peachtree City’s police department is pledging to continue traffic enforcement at the intersection of Ga. 74 and Ga. 54. The city acknowledged Wednesday that “congestion is far worse than normal the past few days,” primarily for those going northbound in Peachtree City and trying to turn west toward Newnan, only to get stuck in the center “box” of the intersection when the light changes.

Drivers who block traffic are subject to citations. The city says it has forwarded its concerns to the Georgia Department of Transportation, which has jurisdiction over traffic control.
