Another round of road reconfiguration is in the works for Peachtree City’s congested western corridor. The city announced that a project to improve traffic flow at the intersection of Planterra Way and Ga. Hwy. 54 is currently out for bid.

The $650,000 budgeted cost, from SPLOST funds, includes a 20 percent premium for doing the work at night to minimize inconvenience to drivers. The project, designed based on the results a 2014 traffic study, will include expanding turn lanes and adjusting traffic signal timing to allow more cars to pass through each cycle.

Completion is expected by late October, weather permitting.
