Peachtree City is considering substantial increases in the fees charged to golf cart owners who drive on the city’s paths.

The city council will discuss an ordinance amendment at 7 p.m. Thursday at City Hall that would begin in 2016. A three-year registration decal would cost $45, an increase from $12 to $15 per year.

The largest hike would be for non-resident path users, who could be charged $100 per year, up from the current $60, in addition to the decal fee.

The city may also eliminate its reciprocal registration agreement with Tyrone. Transferring golf cart ownership would increase from $5 to $15.

The council is expected to vote on the fee changes in November.
