Peachtree City is assuring residents that the golf cart paths being prepared for repaving are still safe to use.

The city’s public works crews have begun opening the nine miles of paths due for repair, which involves removing the existing asphalt and any protruding tree roots and leaving the compacted dirt bed exposed.

By prepping all the sections of path ahead of time, repaving can be done more efficiently once temperatures rise in early spring.

A map of the affected path segments is at www.peachtree-city.org/DocumentCenter/View/7905.
