Peachtree City is waiving its usual golf cart registration rules through July 6 so that visitors from outside the city can have full access to Independence Day events.

Although the city normally requires carts using its 100-mile path system to be registered and tagged, weekend guests can use either their own or rental golf carts for the holiday period. Carts are commonly used to access the city’s annual July 4 parade and evening fireworks, and this year additional events are being held at the Braelinn Village Shopping Center, City Hall and The Avenue shopping center. However, no one may use golf carts on Ga. Hwys. 54 or 74, Peachtree Parkway or Crosstown Drive except at designated crossings.

A link to golf cart operating rules, including age limits, is at www.peachtree-city.org, and apps are available for path system maps.
