The Peachtree City Police Department is increasing its enforcement of retail alcohol handling ordinances after recent spot checks revealed “poor compliance.”

The city is reminding businesses that anyone assigned to sell, serve, deliver, dispense or take orders for alcoholic beverages must meet certain requirements and have an approved permit. Ordinance 6-127 regulates beverage sales and handling to prevent alcohol from being obtained by minors, intoxicated persons or others who should not be served.

Individuals and business can be fined up to $1,000 and/or have their alcohol license suspended or revoked.
