Peachtree City has received two $10,000 grants from the Georgia Municipal Association for programs initiated in 2018.

The City Council formally accepted the grants at its Feb. 7 meeting. The first award, a GMA Safety Grant, reimbursed the city for a portion of the costs related to buying bunker gear sets and ballistic helmets to improve the safety of fire department employees.

The second, a GMA Liability Management Grant, helped underwrite the cost of installing new Coban Technologies camera systems inside police cars and providing HR Express training to keep the city’s human resources staff up to date on laws and regulations.

As a result of meeting all the criteria for each grant, the city was awarded the maximum amount in each category.
