Repaving of Peachtree Parkway in southern Peachtree City will be going on a bit longer. City Manager Jim Pennington told the city council Thursday that the $1.7 million project is currently under budget, so the city is taking advantage of the equipment availability to improve more sections of the road. After the current paving near Crosstown Road is complete, crews will begin repairs elsewhere that will extend the life of the pavement another three to five years. Pennington said the extra work will take only about three days to finish and will still keep the total cost less than the original estimate.
