Changes to school zone times, some speed limits and the placement of speed detection devices have been approved by the City Council of Peachtree City.

Following a review of city roads by city staff and the Georgia Department of Transportation, school zone periods were adjusted to better coincide with drop-off and pick-up times and provide protection to school crossing guards in those areas. The new time zones for all elementary schools will be 7 a.m.-8 a.m. and 2 p.m.-3:30 p.m. The new times for J.C. Booth Middle School will be 7:15 a.m.-8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.-4 p.m.

Speed limits will change from 30 mph to 25 mph on Interlochen Drive and MacDuff Parkway, and speed detection devices will be authorized on five roads in the new Everton and Cresswind developments in the West Village.
