Peachtree City has approved the first step toward extending a limited amount of sewer service to the town of Tyrone. The City Council voted 5-0 Thursday to adopt a Resolution of Support for Negotiations, which means the respective municipal governments and the Peachtree City Water and Sewerage Authority will now draft an agreement to set terms of service.

The resolution notes that Peachtree City is only using about half of its treatment capacity of 6 million gallons per day, so it can accommodate Tyrone’s request to use 350,000 gallons per day and still provide for further growth within the city.
