Peachtree City will soon have more long-term lodging available now that the city council has approved rezoning for a new hotel. The council voted 4-0 (with one absence) Thursday to allow construction of a Residence Inn on 6.52 acres in the Kedron Office Park, at the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 74 and Peachtree Parkway.

The four-story, 126-room, all-suite hotel will cater to business travelers. Plans for a second hotel at the site were dropped, although future office construction is still allowed. The Kedron location was chosen over another property at Lexington Circle because of its accessibility to the airport, local shopping, Pinewood Studios and the city’s larger employers.
