Many candidates, who will be Nov. 3 contenders, have been determined in Paulding County.

For the Paulding County Commission, Chairman and Republican Dave Carmichael received 10,943 votes or 50.67 percent to barely win over former Chairman and Republican Bill Carruth who received 10,655 votes or 49.33 percent.

Carmichael will face Democrat Taurus Madric-Morris who received 11,136 votes with no Democratic opposition.

For the Post 1 seat on the Paulding County Commission, Republican Keith Dunn won with 2,613 votes or 57.38 percent over Republican James Curtis with 1,941 votes or 42.62 percent - with no incumbent and no Democratic challenger for November.

For District 1 on the Paulding County Board of Education, incumbent Republican Theresa Lyons (19,541 votes) will face Democrat Omassis Mendonca (10,874 votes) on Nov. 3.

District 3 Democrat Adam Clayton had no opposition with 19,303 votes for the Paulding County Board of Education.

For District 4 on the Paulding County Board of Education, Republican Deborah Collett won with 15,008 votes or 76.62 percent to Republican Angelia Farries with 4,579 votes or 23.38 percent with no incumbent and no Democratic opposition in November.

For the Board of Education At Large seat, incumbent Republican Jeff Fuller (19,843 votes) will face Democrat Selena Jackson Guines (11,217 votes).

Paulding County Coroner Lindsey Eberhart, Republican incumbent, won with 17,706 votes or 83.12 percent to Republican Barbara Bellino Newsome with 3,595 votes or 16.88 percent.

Paulding Clerk of Superior Court Sheila Butler, Republican incumbent, won with 13,761 votes or 64.85 percent to Republican Kenda Johnson with 6,317 votes or 29.77 percent and Republican Agnes “Lu” Kimble with 1,143 votes or 5.39 percent with no Democrats.

Without an incumbent, the new Paulding Probate Judge is Republican Angela Woodall who won with 10,443 votes or 51.15 percent to Republican Glen Albright with 9,974 votes or 48.85 percent with no Democrats.

Winning with no opposition - all Republicans - were incumbent Paulding Sheriff Gary Gulledge with 20,929 votes; new Paulding Tax Commissioner Kayla Amos with 20,132 votes; incumbent Paulding Surveyor W. Carlton Rakestraw, Jr. with 20,281 votes and incumbent Paulding Chief Magistrate Martin E. Valbuena with 19,912 votes.
