Your pastor may deliver the best sermon, but how is he on wheels?

The "Faster Pastor" race, which raises funds for churches to use on future mission trips, will be held at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Hampton.

Gates open at 6 p.m.

Each church congregation will have a concourse area for members to donate money towards their mission trips. Collections will be taken from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., then counted to determine the starting order. The church that raises the most money will have their pastor start in the pole position for the match race. The pastor who raises the least amount of money will say the invocation for the night's activities as well as race.

In the end, all of the money raised goes back to the respective churches . Six churches are participating in the fundraiser.
