Part of Norcross Street in Roswell will be closed to through traffic for about 14 days as the city begins to replace an 80-year-old, hand-built, stone-and-masonry culvert.
A contractor working for the Roswell Stormwater Utility Division will replace the culvert under Norcross near Josephine Skinner Drive, officials said.
The area immediately in front of 66 Norcross St. will be closed to through traffic for about two weeks, though City Hall and area businesses will be accessible, officials said. Business-hour lane closures can be expected through the 60-calendar-day duration of the project. Work is to be completed by early April.
In December, the Roswell City Council approved a $182,286 contract with Site Engineering to replace the culvert with a 48-inch, reinforced concrete pipe culvert.
