Construction will close Lower Burris Road to through traffic at Reinhardt College Parkway (Ga. 140) near Canton for nine days later this month, Cherokee County officials announced.

The closure, timed for the Cherokee County School District’s winter break, is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 15 through Sunday, Feb. 23, officials said. It is necessary for the reconstruction and realignment of the intersection. Detours will be posted.

County commissioners previously awarded a $2.7 million contract to Bartow Paving Co. Inc. to reconstruct the intersection of Reinhardt College Parkway and Lower Burris and Puckett Creek roads, installing turn lanes and a traffic signal.
