DeKalb County recently agreed to spend $1.24 million to expand parking at one of its most popular senior centers.

The work will add 153 new parking spots at the Lou Walker Senior Center in south DeKalb. It also will add an elevator, stair tower and pedestrian bridge and sidewalks at the center. The county is spending federal block grant money on the project, which is slated to begin later this year.
