Motivated by the recent tragedy at the Walt Disney resort in Orlando, officials at a prominent park in Georgia have posted signs warning of the presence of alligators, according to a media report.
The trails at the Ocmulgee National Monument in Macon now have signs that warn visitors about interacting with the reptiles, which have been seen in the park, the Telegraph of Macon reported.
Alligators “can be dangerous, and should not be approached, frightened or fed,” the signs read.
In June, an alligator snatched a toddler at a lagoon in the Walt Disney resort. The toddler's body was found the next day.
