Georgia’s Department of Transportation is holding an information open house on Jan. 23 regarding a planned solution to the chronic traffic congestion at the SR 74/54 intersection in Peachtree City.

The event will not include a formal presentation, but will have project details available for public review from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Peachtree City Library and allow citizens to ask questions about the installation of displaced left turn lanes designed to improve traffic flow and reduce accidents. The approximately $9 million project, which will receive federal funding, is scheduled to begin in 2021 and be completed in 2023.

Keith Strickland, a senior transportation engineer with the consulting firm Stantec, gave the city council an overview of the plan at its Jan. 16 meeting; his presentation is midway through the meeting video posted at https://peachtree-city.org/566/Videos.
