One man dead, one injured in Roswell shooting
One man was shot dead and another man was grazed by a bullet shortly after midnight Sunday at the Concepts 21 apartment complex in Roswell, according to police.
Police identified the dead man as Ladell Deon Crumpton, 31. At around 12:09 a.m, police received a call that shots had been fired at the complex, according to Roswell police spokesman Lt. James McGee.
He said when officers arrived, they were sent to 297 Old Holcomb Bridge Way where they found two men who had been shot.
Police were told that someone knocked on the door. When one man opened the door he was shot in the neck and later died at North Fulton Hospital.
A second man, who police did not identify, was grazed in the back and was released from the Atlanta Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect had a medium build and wore a black hoody and dark clothing, McGee said. He noted it was the first homicide in Roswell this year.
On Sunday police were gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses who were at the apartment. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was brought in to assist with the investigation.
