The threat of fire at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Buckhead had passed by Wednesday afternoon and no one was harmed, according to the Atlanta Fire Department.

Initially the department said several people had asked to be taken to the hospital, but that information was corrected; no one was transported, according to Capt. Jolyon Bundridge.

Sprinklers quickly extinguished a fire in some ducts in the hotel's laundry room Wednesday morning.

And then firefighters conducted a floor-by-floor inspection before leaving the Ritz.

The cause of the first has not been determined, Bundridge said.
