One man was killed and two others wounded in an overnight shooting at a DeKalb County apartment complex.

Channel 2 Action News reported that the dead man was found shot inside a Pontiac at the Stanford Oaks apartments on Idlewood Road in Tucker shortly before midnight Tuesday.

One of the wounded men was found outside the vehicle, and the second wounded man was located about a half-mile away, according to Channel 2. They were taken to local hospitals for treatment of wounds that were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have not released the names of the men or a motive for the shooting.

None of the victims lived in the complex, Channel 2 reported.

Complex resident Linette March said she heard 8 to 10 gunshots around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

“When I walked out, there was a car sitting right here and a young man slumped over,” March said. “I was kind of sick to know that happened in our complex. It’s a shock.”

Nicole Smith said that when she heard the shots, “I ducked, on the ground.

“I’m not looking out no window, nothing,” Smith said. “We’re on the ground, kids and all.”

When the shooting stopped, “I looked out the window and I saw a guy, had a bullet hole to his shoulder,” Smith said. “He was walking real slow.”
